AIIMS Madurai has released a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Resident (Non-Academic) on a contractual basis. This position is intended for MBBS graduates who wish to gain clinical experience in a reputed government medical institute. Selected candidates will work in various hospital departments handling patient care and assisting senior doctors. The role includes diagnosing patients, performing basic medical procedures, and managing clinical duties. Junior Residents will be posted in OPD, wards, and emergency units as required. The job provides hands-on exposure to real-time medical cases and hospital operations. Candidates will work in shifts, including night duties. The position is temporary, usually for 6–12 months depending on institute rules. It is an excellent opportunity for fresh MBBS graduates to gain experience before pursuing higher studies. Selection will be based on merit and/or interview. Key Responsibilities: Provide medical care and treatment to patients under supervision Assist senior doctors in diagnosis and clinical procedures Handle OPD, ward duties, and emergency cases Maintain patient records and case sheets Perform basic medical procedures and first aid Monitor patient progress and report to senior doctors Follow hospital protocols and medical guidelines Participate in clinical rounds and case discussions Work in rotational shifts including night duty Coordinate with nurses and hospital staff for patient care
