Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has released a special notification for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TN TET) 2026 specifically for working teachers. This exam is conducted to ensure that currently employed teachers meet the required teaching standards set by the government. It is mandatory for in-service teachers to qualify TET to continue service, secure permanent positions, or become eligible for promotions. The exam includes two papers: Paper I for primary teachers (Classes I–V) and Paper II for upper primary teachers (Classes VI–VIII). Only teachers already working in government, aided, or private schools (appointed before 01-09-2025) are eligible to apply. The test evaluates teaching aptitude, subject knowledge, and pedagogy skills. Candidates must apply online and appear for the exam to obtain eligibility certification. This certification is essential for continuing teaching careers in Tamil Nadu. Selection is based purely on qualifying marks in the written examination.
