Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) invites online applications for the post of Application Specialist specifically for the AFM with TERS facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for operating high-resolution Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) systems, assisting researchers in sample handling, data acquisition, and maintaining the instrument's peak performance under the SATHI-CISCoM project. 🔬 Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain high-end AFM and TERS systems and associated peripherals. Perform system optimization, parameter tuning, and calibration for high-resolution surface imaging and chemical mapping. Assist internal and external users in sample preparation, handling, and basic data analysis using specialized software. Conduct routine performance checks, alignments, and maintain detailed instrument logs and safety protocols.
Master's degree in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering/Nanotechnology or allied areas. (OR) Bachelor's degree in the above fields with at least 6 months of relevant experience. Hands-on experience in AFM or Raman Spectroscopy system operation and data acquisition is highly preferred. Experience in handling high-end instruments in academic, national lab, or industrial R&D environments is valid. Strong analytical skills and the ability to train new users on the facility are desirable. Age limit: Maximum 35 years (Age relaxation as per rules).
