The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) invites online applications for the post of Chief Fire Officer. The selected officer will be responsible for the overall management of fire stations in a district, ensuring fire safety compliance, leading fire-fighting operations during major emergencies, and conducting fire safety audits of high-rise buildings and industrial units. 🔬 Key Responsibilities: Command and control fire-fighting and rescue operations during major fire outbreaks. Conduct periodic inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with the Fire Safety Act. Manage administrative tasks, training of fire personnel, and equipment maintenance at the district level. Coordinate with district administration and police during disaster management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc.) from a recognized University. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Engineering from a recognized Institution. Must have completed a Divisional Officer Course from the National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur. (OR) A Graduate Member/Associate Member degree from the Institution of Fire Engineers (India/London). Physical Standards: Minimum Height (Male: 165 cm, Female: 152 cm) + Chest expansion for males. Age limit: 21 to 42 years (as on 01.07.2026). Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Uttarakhand Govt. rules.
