Anthropological Survey of India
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites online applications for the post of Anthropologist. The selected officers will conduct field research on various cultural aspects of Indian populations, document tribal traditions, and contribute to the national repository of anthropological data. This is a highly specialized scientific role under the Ministry of Culture. 🔬 Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute field investigations among various communities and tribes across India. Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative cultural data. Prepare comprehensive research reports and monographs for official publication. Assist in the curation and management of ethnographic museum specimens.
Master’s degree in Anthropology from a recognized University with specialized knowledge in Cultural/Social Anthropology. Minimum 3 years of research experience in the field of Cultural Anthropology. Evidence of published research work in the form of papers or books is highly desirable. Candidate must be a citizen of India. Age limit: Maximum 35 years (as on the closing date). Age relaxation for OBC (3 years) and other categories as per Central Govt. rules.
