Job Description

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar invites online applications for the post of Registrar. The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Institute and is responsible for the overall administration, academic support, financial management, and legal matters. This is a high-responsibility role reporting directly to the Director of the Institute. 🔬 Key Responsibilities: Act as the Secretary to the Board of Governors, Finance Committee, and Senate of the Institute. Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of the administrative staff. Manage the Institute’s official correspondence, custody of records, and common seal. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, legal frameworks, and government policies.

Requirements

A Master's degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University/Institute. At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the Academic Level 11 and above or with 8 years of service in the Academic Level 12 and above. (OR) Comparable experience in research establishments and/or other institutions of higher education. (OR) 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. Proven leadership qualities and excellent communication skills in English and Hindi. Age limit: Preferably below 57 years as on the closing date of application.
