The MPESB 2026 recruitment offers 1,679 vacancies for Forest Department (Forest Guard, Field Guard) and Jail Department (Jail Prahari, Assistant Jail Superintendent) roles in Madhya Pradesh. Positions focus on protecting forest resources, securing correctional facilities, and involve a written exam followed by physical tests MPESB Forest Department (Van Rakshak / Kshetra Rakshak) Role: Forest Guards and Field Guards protect, manage, and conserve MP's forest resources and enforce environmental laws. Education: Generally requires 10th-grade passing or equivalent. Job Focus: Field duty involving patrol, preventing illegal activities, and assisting in forest management. MPESB Jail Department (Jail Prahari / Assistant Jail Superintendent) Role: Jail Warders (Prahari) and Assistant Jail Superintendents are responsible for maintaining security, discipline, and order within jails. Education: 10th-grade for Jail Prahari; Graduation is required for Assistant Jail Superintendent. Job Focus: Custodial duties and ensuring safe management of inmates.

Requirements

Written Examination (Applicable for All Posts) The written examination will be conducted by Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) for Forest Guard, Forester (Kshetra Rakshak), Jail Prahari, and Assistant Jail Superintendent posts. The test will consist of objective type questions from subjects such as General Knowledge, General Hindi, General English, General Mathematics, and General Science. Questions will be asked at High School level for Forest Guard, Forester, and Jail Prahari posts, while the level will be graduation for Assistant Jail Superintendent posts. The examination will consist of 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Each question will carry 1 mark and the duration of the examination will be 2 hours. The question paper will be available in Hindi and English medium. There will be Negative Marking of .25 Marks for every wrong answer. Section Subject Total Marks Part 1 General Knowledge 100 Marks Part 2 General Hindi Part 3 General English Part 4 General Mathematics Part 5 General Science Minimum qualifying marks will be 33% for Unreserved category candidates and 23% for SC, ST and other reserved category candidates. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates will receive a 10% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks, however selection will still be based on merit within the EWS category. Candidates must select 4 preferred exam cities while filling the application form. Exam centers will be allotted based on preference and seat availability. Exam Cities - Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Guna, Bhopal, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sidhi, Ujjain, Anuppur.
