The Junior Engineer (Works) role in Indian Railways is primarily responsible for the maintenance and construction of railway infrastructure. This is a departmental vacancy under the GDCE scheme, providing a career growth opportunity for existing staff. The role involves managing railway quarters, office buildings, roads, and water supply systems, ensuring they meet the safety and quality standards of the Ministry of Railways. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Supervising periodic maintenance of railway buildings, staff colonies, and approach roads. Monitoring site progress and quality control for new civil construction projects. Managing labor, materials, and maintaining daily muster rolls and site logs. Ensuring the safety of railway land and handling removal of encroachments. 🔬 Key Responsibilities: Railway buildings, colonies, aur roads ki periodic maintenance supervise karna. Civil construction projects ki site monitoring aur quality control check karna. Labour aur materials ka management aur muster rolls maintain karna. Encroachments (atikraman) hatane aur railway land ki safety ensure karna. 🔹 Selection Process: Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) / Tablet Based Test (TBT) Document Verification (DV) Medical Examination
Must be a Regular Serving Employee of CLW (including DLW Dankuni units). Eligible staff must be currently working in a grade below Pay Level-6. Candidate should possess a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. OR A 3-year B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute. RPF/RPSF personnel are NOT eligible to apply for this departmental exam. Age limit: UR 42, OBC 45, SC/ST 47 years (as on 09.04.2026).
