District Child Protection Unit
The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Chatra, invites offline applications for the post of Support Person on a contractual basis. The primary role of a Support Person is to provide psychological and procedural support to child victims of sexual offenses under the POCSO Act. This involves handholding the child through the legal process, coordinating with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and ensuring the child's safety and rehabilitation. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Providing emotional and psychological support to child victims during police investigations and court trials. Explaining the legal procedures to the child and their family in a simplified manner. Assisting the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU) and CWC in managing child protection cases. Preparing Social Investigation Reports (SIR) and Individual Care Plans (ICP) for the children. Facilitating the child’s access to medical care, education, and vocational training for rehabilitation. Job Type: Contractual (Initially for 1 year, extendable based on performance and fund availability). Candidate must be a Graduate in Social Work (BSW), Psychology, Sociology, or Law (LLB). Minimum 2 years of experience in working with children in the field of child welfare or social development. Proficiency in local languages (Hindi/Local dialects) to communicate effectively with the children. Strong understanding of the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act and POCSO Act guidelines. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Jharkhand or the Chatra district. Age limit: 21 to 45 years (as on the date of notification).
