Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) invites online applications for the post of Technician (Electrician) Trainee. This position is part of the core technical workforce responsible for the day-to-day electrical maintenance of coal mining equipment. Selected candidates undergo a training period where they learn to handle specialized mining electrical systems. It is a high-stability career path under Coal India Limited (CIL) for skilled ITI professionals. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs of electrical motors, panels, and lighting systems in the mines. Laying and joining of high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) cables in open-cast mining projects. Assisting the Asst. Foreman in troubleshooting electrical faults in heavy mining machinery. Regular inspection of earthing systems and ensuring electrical safety at the worksite. Maintaining tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory for the electrical department. Selection Process: * Computer Based Test (CBT) - 100 Objective Questions. Merit list based solely on CBT scores. Document Verification and Medical Fitness Test.
Minimum Qualification: Matriculation (10th Class) pass or equivalent from a recognized Board. Technical Qualification: ITI in Electrician Trade from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institute. Must possess a valid Workman’s Permit (Lineman/Wireman) for Mines or equivalent from a competent authority. Ability to work in challenging field conditions (Open-cast and Underground mines). Basic knowledge of Indian Electricity (IE) Rules for mine safety. Age limit: 18 to 30 years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Ex-Servicemen as per Govt. guidelines).
