Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), Tezpur, under the aegis of DRDO, invites applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). DRL is a premier laboratory dedicated to providing solutions for the health and survival of soldiers in the North-Eastern region. The selected fellows will work on projects related to high-altitude research, bio-control of insects, and environmental monitoring. Working with DRDO provides a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national security through scientific innovation. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Conducting research experiments in the lab and assisting in field trials in the North-East region. Collecting biological samples and performing chemical/microbiological analysis. Maintaining precise documentation of experiments and assisting in the preparation of technical reports. Handling sophisticated analytical instruments and ensuring laboratory safety protocols. Coordinating with senior scientists for data interpretation and research publications. Job Type: Contractual (Initially for 2 years, upgradable to SRF based on performance). Selection Process: * Shortlisting based on academic merit/GATE/NET score. Personal Interview (Online/Offline).
Qualification: Post Graduate degree (M.Sc. / M.Tech) in relevant subjects like Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Chemistry. Must have a valid NET (CSIR/UGC) or GATE score. Strong interest in applied research and willingness to travel for field-work if required. Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and research methodology. Excellent command over technical writing and communication. Age limit: Maximum 28 years (Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates).
