Job Description

The District Panchayat of Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara invites offline applications for the post of Area Coordinator under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). The Area Coordinator acts as the frontline representative of the mission at the village cluster level. The primary role is to organize rural women into Self-Help Groups (SHGs), facilitate their meetings, and help them access financial services and livelihood opportunities. This role involves intensive field travel and community mobilization. 🔬 Key Responsibilities SHG Formation: Identifying and mobilizing rural poor households into Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Training & Capacity Building: Training SHG members on book-keeping, financial literacy, and group management. Bank Linkage: Assisting SHGs in opening bank accounts and obtaining loans for their small businesses. Livelihood Support: Helping SHG members identify and start income-generating activities (e.g., poultry, tailoring, small shops). Monitoring: Attending SHG meetings regularly to ensure transparency and proper record maintenance. Job Type: Contractual (Initially for 1 year, extendable based on performance). Selection Process: 1. Merit list based on Graduation marks. 2. Computer Skill Test (Basic). 3. Interview.

Requirements

Qualification: Graduate Degree in any discipline (B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, etc.) from a recognized University. Minimum 1 to 2 years of field experience in social mobilization or working with SHGs is preferred. Must have a basic understanding of rural banking and microfinance. Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with the rural community. Mandatory: Willingness to travel extensively on a two-wheeler within the assigned cluster/villages. Age limit: 21 to 35 years (Relaxation as per Chhattisgarh Government norms for local residents).
