The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) invites applications for the post of Senior Advisor on a contractual basis. This is a high-level advisory role meant for retired or senior professionals from the Power Sector, Government Departments, or Autonomous bodies. The Senior Advisor will provide strategic inputs on tariff determination, market regulations, and grid security, helping the Commission take balanced decisions for the Indian power industry. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Policy Advisory: Providing expert advice on the implementation of the Electricity Act and National Power Policy. Tariff Analysis: Assisting the Commission in the scrutiny of tariff petitions and commercial aspects of power generation. Market Development: Developing frameworks for power market operations and cross-border trade of electricity. Regulatory Oversight: Drafting opinions on complex legal and technical issues within the power sector. Stakeholder Coordination: Representing the Commission in high-level committees and technical forums. Job Type: Contractual (Initially for 1 year, extendable based on requirement). Selection Process: 1. Shortlisting based on high-level experience. 2. Personal Interaction / Interview with the Commission Members.
Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Economics / Engineering / Law / Finance or equivalent from a recognized university. Experience: Minimum 20 to 25 years of experience in the Power Sector, preferably in a senior administrative or regulatory position. Deep understanding of Regulatory frameworks, Electricity Laws, and Commercial operations of power utilities. Experience in working with Central/State Regulatory Commissions or PSU Power Companies is a plus. Proven ability to handle complex policy documents and high-level technical drafting. Age limit: Maximum 62 to 65 years (Suitable for retired professionals).
