The National Institute of Immunology (NII), an autonomous research institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, invites online applications for the post of Project Assistant. The selected candidate will work under a time-bound research project. The role involves assisting senior scientists and PhD scholars in conducting lab experiments, preparing chemical reagents, and maintaining biological samples. This is a foundational role for those planning to build a career in biotechnology or immunology. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Lab Assistance: Preparing buffers, media, and basic chemical solutions for daily experiments. Sample Management: Maintaining and organizing biological samples, including cell cultures or protein extracts. Data Recording: Keeping a detailed and accurate record of experimental observations in lab notebooks. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness and proper functioning of lab glassware and basic instruments. Administrative Support: Assisting in the procurement of lab consumables and inventory management. Job Type: Contractual (Initially for 6 months or 1 year, extendable based on project duration). Qualification: Graduate degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry or a related field. Prior experience in a research laboratory or handling basic lab equipment will be an advantage. Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques (like PCR, Gel Electrophoresis). Proficiency in MS Office for basic data entry and documentation. Strong willingness to learn and work in a collaborative research environment. Age limit: Maximum 28 to 30 years (Relaxation as per Govt. of India rules).
