Job Description

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar, invites online applications for the post of Research Associate-II. This is a senior research position where the candidate is expected to lead specific research modules under a sponsored project. The role involves designing high-end experiments, mentoring junior researchers (JRFs/SRFs), and coordinating with industrial or government funding agencies. This is a prestigious opportunity to work in one of India's most modern and green IIT campuses. 🔬 Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Leading the design and execution of complex scientific experiments. Mentorship: Guiding Ph.D. students and project staff in their research activities and lab work. Data Synthesis: Analyzing high-volume research data using advanced software and computational tools. Grant Writing: Assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) in drafting new research proposals and patents. Dissemination: Presenting research findings at top-tier international conferences and publishing in high-impact journals. Job Type: Contractual (Initially for 1 year, extendable based on project duration and performance). Selection Process: 1. Shortlisting based on CV and Research Statement. 2. Technical Presentation. 3. Personal Interview.

Requirements

Qualification: Ph.D. / MS or equivalent degree in a relevant field of Science/Engineering. Alternative: M.E. / M.Tech with at least 3 years of research/teaching/design experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. Proven expertise in specialized software (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) or advanced laboratory instrumentation. Strong track record of independent research and academic excellence. Excellent technical writing skills for drafting research manuscripts and reports. Age limit: Maximum 35 to 40 years (Relaxation as per Govt. of India / IITGN rules).
