Civil Defence & Home Guards
The Directorate of Civil Defence & Home Guards, Meghalaya has announced recruitment for the post of Part-Time Platoon Havildar (Volunteers). This recruitment is specifically for existing Home Guard volunteers who have completed a minimum of five years of service. The selected candidates will be responsible for supervising and managing Home Guard personnel during training and operational duties. The role includes maintaining discipline, coordinating team activities, and assisting in civil defence operations. Candidates will support disaster management tasks, emergency response, and public safety initiatives within the state. The job requires leadership skills, physical fitness, and experience in Home Guard duties. Selected candidates will act as a link between senior officers and ground-level volunteers. The position is part-time in nature and based on honorarium rather than a fixed salary. It provides an opportunity for experienced volunteers to take on higher responsibility roles. The selection process will be based on departmental criteria and eligibility conditions.
