Angul Forest Division has released a recruitment notification for the post of Wildlife Veterinary Officer on a contractual basis. The selected candidate will work in forest areas handling wildlife health and veterinary services. The role mainly involves treating wild animals, monitoring their health, and supporting conservation activities. Candidates will be deployed in mobile veterinary units (MVU) to provide on-field medical care. The job includes working in forests and remote areas, especially for wildlife rescue and emergency care. The officer will assist in wildlife management programs such as elephant management and control of animal conflicts. The position requires coordination with forest officials and conservation teams. Candidates must have practical knowledge of animal treatment and wildlife handling. This is a field-based government role offering hands-on experience in wildlife conservation. Selection will be based on written test and interview. Key Responsibilities: Provide medical treatment and healthcare support to wild animals Handle emergency cases like injured or rescued wildlife Work in Mobile Veterinary Units (MVU) for field operations Assist in wildlife conservation and management programs Monitor animal health and maintain medical records Support elephant management and human-wildlife conflict control Conduct field visits in forest and remote areas Coordinate with forest officials and wildlife teams Ensure proper use of veterinary medicines and equipment Prepare reports and documentation related to wildlife health
B.V.Sc & A.H / M.V.Sc degree required Experience in wildlife management preferred (elephant/animal handling) Age limit: below 65 years Ability to work in forest and field conditions Physically fit and mobile for field duties Good knowledge of animal health and treatment Offline application required Selection through Written Exam + Interview
